High Desert Lodge
Architect: AOME Architects
General Contractor: Exquisite Homes Inc.
Designed as a second home for a family with a large extended family, this home is built of durable materials for a long-lasting retreat for outdoor sports. The client and I gathered natural materials from the site to create the color palate of juniper, lichen, berry, and ochre colors, integrating the home's interior with the high desert landscape. Furniture is traditional, mixed with antique accessories and Tibetan rugs. Fireplaces from local stone, stone and wood floors, ceilings of cedar and fir, as well as alder cabinets create a strong natural warmth for the the large spaces complements the stunning mountain views.
