Island Carriage House

Architect: AKJ Architects, Arlene Kisiel-Jermann
General Contractor: Toth Construction, Inc.

Our clients asked us to remodel a caretaker's carriage house into a guest retreat in character with their 1914 Arts and Crafts cottage. Guests are welcomed by luxurious, comfortable furniture, textured fabrics, and a beautiful hand-knotted rug complementing a reclaimed wide plank oak floor. European antiques, accessories and artwork throughout contribute to the relaxed feeling of an old summer house. The sumptuous reading chair and antique writing table invite guests to linger by the new seaside window. The combination of natural light, views, warm furnishings and colors, as well as architectural details, welcomes guests to a peaceful retreat in the Pacific Northwest.
